There's a reason Wellness & Recharge Week at KensieMae isn't just a nice-to-have - it's backed by actual data. Gallup research shows burnout now affects 67% of workers globally, a steady rise from 52% in 2021, and it takes a real toll. In an always-on industry like ours, where deadlines don't pause, that pressure adds up fast.
Chronic stress wears people down, makes it harder to switch off, and chips away at the things that matter most outside of work. The good news is that real rest helps reverse that. A large analysis combining dozens of studies found that time away from work consistently reduces exhaustion, improves mood, and increases overall life satisfaction, with measurable physical benefits like lower stress hormones and better sleep. It's simple: people who feel taken care of, and who actually get to rest, are happier and healthier for it.
That's exactly why we built Wellness & Recharge Week the way we did. Each year in the first week of July, our hardworking team gets the week off to unwind and reenergize. Some of our team travels, some plan a staycation full of projects they've been wanting to complete, and others simply enjoy the rare gift of having nothing on the calendar. However they choose to spend it, the goal is the same: a genuine, guilt-free break to come back feeling reinvigorated.
Wellness & Recharge Week is just one piece of the puzzle. Add in KensieMae Day, our employee appreciation day, a health and fitness month where we challenge everyone to get moving and establish healthy habits, employee assistance programs, and a generous PTO policy we strongly encourage everyone to use. The result speaks for itself: happy employees, and a 91%+ retention rate to show for it. Our team works hard for us all year long, and moments like these are our way of saying thank you.
